The competition is an open two stage architectural competition for the design of a joint Headquarters facility for both Kildare County Council and Navan Urban District Council on a urban infill site at Devoy Barracks, Naas, which will enhance the fabric of the town and will express a statement of identity for the people of the county of Kildare. The co-ordination of other design team members yet to be selected and for the supervision of the contract for the development. The project budget is IR£10 million (includes value added tax and construction and excludes loose furniture, fit-outs and fees). The competition will be held in two stages. Stage One is open to registered members of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and architects/architectural practices holding a qualification listed in the EC Architects Directive 85/384/EEC. Approximately 6 participants will be selected, provided there is a sufficient number of suitable participants, to go forward to Stage Two and provide a more detailed design proposal. Each second stage entrant shall receive a prize premium of IR£6,000 for a valid submission. For the winning candidate, this will be an advance on the fee for executing the commission, if the development proceeds. PRIZE FUND IR£6,000 for a valid second stage submission.
