WHO
IS ELIGIBLE All professional visual communicators and design and illustration students working anywhere in the world (graphics designers, art directors, illustrators, photographers, animators, and so on). WHAT IS ELIGIBLE Any original graphic work done in the categories listed below, created using any tool or medium, from October 1, 1999 through September 30, 2000. DEADLINE Entries must be postmarked no later than October 2, 2000. Winners will be notified by January 1, 2001. ENTRY FEE For print, $25 (U.S.) per entry; for subscribers to Step-By-Step Graphics or Step-By-Step Electronic Design, the fee is $20. (Any packaging entry, whether it is a single package or family of packages, will be considered a single entry.) For video, $35 (U.S.) per entry: for subscribers, $30. For multimedia/web, $50 (U.S.) per entry; for subscribers $45. Return fee for ZIP or JAZ disks is $12 each. Fees must accompany entries. Make checks payable to Step-By-Step Graphics Competition. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Each entry submitted should have Form 2 taped securely to it's back (photocopies are fine); please label multiple entries "1 of X," 2of X," and so on. All entries should be UNMOUNTED. No paper clips, staples or glass slide mounts, please. Fill out forms as completely and as accurately as possible (please print). Entries cannot be returned. MULTIMEDIA REQUIREMENTS Multimedia entries must be submitted on ZIP, JAZ (1gig) or CD-ROM - in Windows format. Macintosh entries must be submitted as native Director files , or be Windows compatible. All multimedia entries will be viewed on a PC - any Macintosh entry not Windows-compatible will not be judged. VIDEO REQUIREMENTS Video entries should be submitted on 1/2-inch videotape NTSC. WEB REQUIREMENTS Web entries must be submitted on ZIP,JAZ (1gig) or CD-ROM - in Netscape 4.0 or higher or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. A maximum of 30MB per site will be allowed. STUDENT REQIUREMENTS Students can enter up two pieces free of charge. Additional pieces can be entered when accompanied with entry fee. CATEGORIES ILLUSTRATION: 1 Advertising, 2 Editorial, 3 Corporate, 4 Self-promotion, 5 Unpublished/personal DESIGN: 6 Advertising, 7 Editorial cover/page/spread, 8 Logo/ID program.
