INFORMATION
SHEET The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland, 8 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 (Tel: +353 1 6761703. Fax +353 1 6769510, email info@riai.ie, www.riai.ie) is administering a competition on behalf of Westport Urban District Council, Castlebar Street, Westport, Co. Mayo. (Tel: +353 98 25888. Fax: +353 9825787). The competition is an open two stage architectural competition for the architectural/design services for new Civic Offices (circa 2,600m²) and for the co-ordination of other design team members yet to be selected and for the supervision of the contract for the development. The total project value is IR£3.5 million (4,444,083. ECU), inclusive of value added tax and fees. The competition will be held in two stages. Stage One is open to registered members of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and architects/architectural practices holding a qualification listed in the EC Architects Directive 85/384/EEC. Stage Two: the Awarding Authority will select for this contest a range of between 3 and 7 of the Stage One applicants to present detailed design proposals for the Development. The selection of the number of entrants, between 3 and 7, shall be at the sole discretion of the Competition Jury. Each second stage entrant shall receive a prize premium of IR£5,000 for a valid submission. For the winning candidate, this will be an advance on the fee for executing the commission, if the development proceeds. PRIZE FUND IR£5,000 for a valid Second Stage submission. STAGE ONE SUBMISSION One A1 size sheet of information in horizontal format, a written report and an elemental cost plan. STAGE TWO SUBMISSION Three A1 size sheets of information in horizontal format and a report.
