The Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities (Lokale- og Anlægsfonden) invites in the beginning of October entries for an international design competition on the community centers of the future. The aim of the competition is to inspire new ideas and approaches to both content and expression for the community centres of the future so that the results of the competition can contribute to the evolution of pioneering architecture for organised social activities. Entries shall be submitted by December 13 at the latest.
The competition is divided into two stages: Stage 1 is an open ideas competition whose aim is to develop conceptual ideas for designing the community centres of the future. The assessment of the entries submitted in Stage 1 will result in the selection of 6-8 entrants who will then proceed to Stage 2 of the competition. The total prize sum is DKK 750,000 max. The first prize being at least DKK 150,000.
The Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities expects the winner of the competition to undertake the total consultancy (architectural and engineering works) relating to the construction of three community centers in Denmark. Please note: the competition is not open to students of architecture.
