Promoter Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst - Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig Wächterstr. 11 D-04107 Leipzig Represented by the Rector Prof. Dr. Klaus Werner www.hgb-leipzig.de Competition task The subject of the competition is to produce ideas and concepts for an Audiovisual Lab (a centre for art students working with New Media) at Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts as an extension or conversion project at or on the Academy's existing building in Leipzig. As basis of the work on the competition task an intensive analysis of the theme of working and teaching with electronic means and its influence on architecture will be required and should slip into the design in exemplary and pioneer shape. Type of competition The competition is to be an international, single-stage competition for ideas with limited participation, to be preceded by a pre-qualification procedure. About 20 entrants will be short-listed by the pre-qualification committee. The competition brief and registration details shall be available as of the date of its announcement, namely 1 March 2001 on the internet at www.hgb-leipzig.de/audiovisual-lab and can be downloaded free of charge. Competition area; language The competition is international and open to architects based anywhere. The competition language is English.
