Theme: The Tomihiro Museum——Where You Always Encounter Gentleness. It is 2 stage international competition to design a New Tomihiro Museum with the total floor area of 3,000m2 and the total cost of ¥1,200,000,000 (US$9,600,000). Eligibility: All nationalities of architects with the qualifications equivalent to those of Japanese 1st class architect license. Jury: Toyo Ito (Chairperson, Architect) / Wiel Arets (Architect, The Netherlands) / Riken Yamamoto (Architect) / Kengo Kuma (Architect) / Ryoko Kuroda (Director of Gunma Prefectural Tatebayashi Art Museum) / Takeshi Nakagawa (Chairperson of the Committee to Study the Building of a New Tomihiro Museum, Professor of Waseda University) Coordinator: Masayuki Fuchigami (Architectural Journalist) Prizes: After the first stage of judging, 5 entries will be selected and the following 5 winners will be decided in the second stage.
