| -STATEMENT OF INTENT The Gate01 Foundation aim is to offer more than a physical space to creative minds. Gate 01 defines itself as a CREATIVITY INCUBATOR: a real and virtual laboratoey that offers young designers a physical and multimidial space where training and production are two aspects of the same aim. A fruitful space where bounderies between design,architecture,art,fashion are thin and open to experiment. The Foundation GATE:is the exit,the gate,but also the way to success:”the gate of success”. 01:is the possibility of the first prototype,the first edition,the first possibility,the first meeting with the company reality. LINE:is the simpler graphic sign to align,to join,to melt the art with design,fashion and communication. Moving from this statament of intents the Gate 01 Foundation proclaims a competition of ideas for young web and visual designers from the age of 18 to 35 years old. -ART.1-Aims and theme of the competition The competition aim is to promote and give full value to young visual and web designers works,it would like to stimulate the production of vanguard projects in line with Gate 01 philosophy. The theme is the design for the graphics of the web site of Gate 01 Foundation (www.gate01.org) through the design of the window-page,the introduction page to the web site itself. -ART.2-How to partecipate in the competition The competition is open to Visual designers and Web designers aged not less than 18 and not more than 35 years old by the date 14 February 2001. It is possible to partecipate in groups,in this case there has to be a leader of the group whom will be the only representative with the society promoting the competition. It is not possible for relatives (of the second degree relationship) of the members of the jury and members of the foundation to partecipate in the competition. There is no cost to the partecipation of the competition. The registration into competition will be at the moment of the delivery of the works (entry form to be filled). -ART.3-Works The projects and their codes have to be shown in a cd-rom. The tecnique is to your choice but the page has to be no more than 280 kb. A technical specification of the project is required (sketches,drawings and other graphic works),it has to be no more than three A4 pages. The cd-rom and in the technical specification have to have the identification slogan of the group. -Art.4-Deadline Works has to be delivered within 1 p.m.of the 20 November 2001 to the following address:Fondazione Gate 01-Via Terraglio n°29 31100 Treviso Italia (it is important the postal stamp). -ART.5-Jury Luca Carniato designer Claudio Manfrin visual designer Daniele Marchesini web designer Simone Pagliusco web master Gianni Plazzogna architect Alberto Vazzoler research worker Jury will decide its final judgement within the 1 December 2001. -ART.6-Prizes The jury,with an unchangeble judgement,will choose three projects and no more than ten mentions. First prize:750 euro Second prize:500 euro Third prize:350 euro The winning projects will be shown in the web site www.gate01.org. The designers of the three winning projects will be invited on the 15 December 2001 for the prize-giving at the Gate 01 Foundation site, in Treviso. It is possible that Gate 01 will stipulate a contract with one more of the chosen designers. -ART.7-Chosen projects ownership Gate 01 will be the owner of the winning projects,Gate 01 will not make any changes to the projects. It is possible that Gate 01 will use the chosen projects for proposal such as exhibitions and publishing but without any fee to the designers. The works submitted will not be returned. -ART.8-Responsability The designers are responsable for the originality of their works. The designers agree the rules written in this document.
