The competition targets approx.24-hectare site, Umeda Freight Train
station, located in the Umeda district, the commercial heart of Osaka,
Japan. The site occupies the north side of the citys largest railroad
station, JR Osaka station, which averages traffic of nearly 2.5 million
passengers per day in an area of high-density office and commercial
development.

Organizer: International Concept Competition Committee of Northern Osaka Station Area (Urban Development Corporation, Japan Railway Construction Public Corporation, Kansai Economic Federation, Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Osaka Prefectural Government, City of Osaka). Supported by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Kansai Council 3. Eligibility: There is no restriction on applicants nationality or qualification.
