 Gianluca Adami, Alessandro Santamaria Ferraro ...OLTREQUANDO... LaMA- Multimedia Laboratory of Architecture, Italy 2000, 7’ A man goes on the other side of the screen. A new life is waiting for him in the virtual world where fantasies become reality. However, in this virtual reality, man feels nostalgia for the real world. The memories of his past life are floating around in front of his eyes. A very personal condition becomes the symbol of a universal condition. The story is made up of four short episodes and the underlying theme are the four natural elements: earth, water, air and fire. Each of these elements become the metaphor of something else, a dream-like metaphor, just like in Borges’ poetry, based in an imaginary world made up of our dreams. Gianluca Adami is an architect. From 1994 to 1996 he worked at Ricardo Bofill’s Taller de Arquitectura. In 1998 he opened up his own firm and in the same year he created STALKagency, a group of digital artists who are part of Spazioemme gallery. He has created a number of multimedia products that lie between video, art and communication of architectural projects. Alessandro Santamaria Ferraro is a sound technician at LaMa, a Multimedia Laboratory of Architecture at the Department of Architecture and Town Planning at “La Sapienza”, University of Architecture in Rome. He is a video shooting expert and he also works in the field of editing on advanced digital systems. He is an expert of modern and contemporary music. |
