 Luiz Bargmar The São Luiz Social Housing Project: Post-Occupancy Evaluation Universidade de São Paolo, Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo Brazil 1998, 12’ A Social Housing Project is one of the most employed solutions for low-income dwellers. The government believes it to be a fast and efficient solution in the struggle against the high housing demand in the country. It is considered as a way of decreasing the consequences of this severe social problem. But is a social housing project a real good solution? The question can be answered through the application of POE – a detailed survey about the conditions and the use of a house and its urban context. “The São Luiz Social Housing Project” was undertaken by the research team of the Companhia de Desenvolvimento Habitacional e Urbano (CDHU) of the State of São Paulo University (FAUUSP), who applied POE methods and techniques in this study case. Luiz Bargmar Netto was born in São Paulo, 1955. Since 1990 he has coordinated the production of VIDEOFAU – Laboratory of Video at FAUUSP. His work mainly focuses on documentaries, developing productions which aim at the divulgation to the broader society of the knowledge produced in the University. The programmes deal with themes such as architecture, urban planning, applied arts, environment and so on. Since 1983 he has been producing educational and cultural programmes for TV USP and TV Cultura channels, in São Paulo, Brazil. |
