Architron (Imre Bartal)
SWING – Metropolitan Zurich Area
Switzerland 2000, 3'28"

Urban Situation: Swing is situated in a strategic optimal area, next to the largest shopping mall of Switzerland, the railway station and the highway connecting the city of Zurich to the airport. Sports and recreation facilities like tennis, minigolf, swimming pool and jogging fields are located just nearby. Room Program: rough and ready - an open and highly representative structure, offering major flexibility to future tenants. Companies from the IT, Technolgy and Telecommunication Sectors are desirable locators for Swing. Computer animated Visualization: visualization is supposed to serve as a means of presentation of the project to possible locators. From a formal point of view, the main aim was to make the spaces perceptible by using real material textures. It was important to show the nearby recreational facilities, including future rail line and the airport. This allows to show the space from a precisely chosen point of view, easy to remember for the audience.

Imre Bartal (Architron) was born in 1964. He studied architecture from 1984 since 1990 in Zurich, and in 1986 in Porto. Then he worked in the office of Santiago Calatrava and Trix & Robert Haussmann. In 1997 he founded Architron, doing several architectural interventions and computergraphics for famous offices, such as Diener & Dienerand Herzog & de Meuron.
