Maik Bruns
Expo 2000 - Time in Motion
Germany 2000, 3'5''

The film "Expo 2000 - Time in Motion" shows the progress, the individuality and the structure of the buildings and the infrastructure of the Expo 2000. During a period of 15 months, three different perspective installed Photocameras shooting each hour a 3 pictures of the Expo-location. Over 12.000 pictures were taken and generated to three and a half (3,5 Minutes) Minute film/movie. During the period of 15 month there are irregular and inconsistant influences of the weather and daily itself modifying lighting conditions, so we used a special film-compositing procedure, frame retouching and an especially developed dissolve procedure in connection with subsequently inserted moving shadows and cloud movements. So a calm and flowing film is the result, which reflects the progress, the individuality and the structure of the Expo. called "Time in Motion".
