New I.U.A.V. Buiding at San Basilio, Venice / second phase selected project. The project 'the turn of the tides' is based on an analogy with the tide fluctuation in the Venice Lagoon. The architectural intervention is conceived as an 'intertwining' of different spatial system, which form a nodal point where events with different frequencies and amplitudes become possible. The scheme transforms the site to create a multifunctional park and to define programs for the pre-existing warehouses. The building consists of a snakelike object containing teaching facilities and offices. Housing on The Mullerpier, Rotterdam. The Mullerpier is one of the hot spots in the process of reconfiguration of the city. The project maintains the quality of this urban wasteland. An extending programme is placed underneath. The urban structure, under the surface, reaches the water. The whole pier becomes a highly condensed organism on which very different activities can land.
