Tuff + Lauro

New I.U.A.V. Building at San Basilio, Venice / placed project / with Luca Milan, Santo Marra (Tuff Architects) and Stefano Barile, Andrea Imbrenda (Studio Lauro). A simple box cladded in glass and alabaster hide an open space, a new meeting place for students and an abstract reinterpretation of the italian historical courtyard. The 'artificial canal' public space open to everybody, with its evolving shape and a complex and surprising space, becomes the heart of the new campus. The magic box. International design competition for the new football Stadium in Santa Monica, Los Angeles / honourable mention / with Luca Milan, Santo Marra, Carlotta Giannessi (Tuff Architects) and Stefano Barile, Sergio Raggio, Andrea Imbrenda, Athanassios Barkas (Studio Lauro). Two sloping blades, as temporary structures typical of the California culture, hold the public that can enjoy two events at the same time: sport and landscape. The scheme is completely open on both short sides, in this way the city of Santa Monica and the Ocean actually become a stage-scenary. Two wings on the Ocean.
