Navan Square RIAI Urban Design Competition
The RIAI (Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland), 8 Merrion Square, Dublin 2 (Tel: 353 1 6761703) in association with Navan Urban District Council are hosting a competition for the design of a twon square for Navan to mark the Millenium. The budget for the project will be in the region of 600,000 IR£.
The competition is open to architects, landscape architects, planners, urban designers and artists in the EU. The promoters are seeking designers who will be responsible for the design and who can secure the realisation of that design through the mechanism of a conventional building contract. The assessors would consider a collaborative approach to be the most appropriate for this project.
A prize fund of 10,000 IR£ will be awarded at the discretion of the Jury and competitors are required to submit one A1 size drawn sheet.
It is envisaged that the competition will conclude in June in order for completion of the project in December 1999.
