iF Design Awards 2000

The iF Seal of Approval for outstanding design quality is one of the most prestigious design awards that can be won by German and international manufacturers and designers.

Registration Deadline: July 1, 1999
Final deadeline; August 30, 1999

Prize: In addition to the iF statuette and an Award CErtificate, the TOP 3 prizewinners overall will receive a valuable cash prize. First prize is DM 30,000, Second prize is DM 20,000, Third prize is DM 10,000.

Open to: all manufacturers and designers of industrially produced goods. The products submitted should not have been on the market for more than three years.Studies and concepts that are about to go into series production may also be entered.

Entries may be submitted in any of the following product categories: Office design, Communications products, Housewares, Household goods, Lighting, Building technology, Industry components, Transportation, Medical products, Leisure goods, Consumer electronics, Lifestyle design (Clocks, watches, jewellery, spectacles, leather goods), Public design (Furnishing and fittings for public spaces and buildings), Packaging design, Textile design.

Assessment criteria: Aesthetic qualities, Workmanship and choice of materials, Innovation, Environmental-friendliness, Functionality and ergonomics, Form as an expression of function, Safety and durability.
