1999 WorldStars for Packaging Awards

It is presented only to packages which, having already won recognition in a national competition, are then compared by an expert panel of judges to other, similar packages submitted from around the world.

Awards are based on the judges' consensus that a package is superior in its own right, better in its class in execution or innovation by comparison.

WorldStar winners are honored with a beautiful Certificate and a handsome trophy. Many entrants order additional certificates and trophies to share with their designers, suppliers and packagers.

Most importantly, awards are also featured in an annual WPO publication which is distributed to packaging leaders around the world.

Thus, the WorldStar Awards illustrate the continual advancement of the state of our packaging art and, thereby, create a standard of international packaging excellence from which others may learn.

Follow the links below for more information on how to submit an entry to the Worldstar competition, or click http://www.packinfo-world.org/wpo/worldstar/contact.html to request a brochure by mail. If you need an Adobe Acrobat Reader to access the .PDF
entry form, click http://www.packinfo-world.org/wpo/worldstar/99/call/wsentry.pdf to download.

ELIGIBILITY:
The WorldStar Awards are open to any package or packaging material which has won any type of domestic or international award related directly or indirectly to packaging in 1998 or 1999, provided it has not been submitted for consideration in a previous WorldStar Award Program.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY:
Entry forms, statements, color slides and payment must reach the WPO Secretariat in the United States on or before August 9, 1999.

ENTRY FEE:
i) Please remit balance due in U.S. dollars. The preferred method of payment is a check drawn on an account in a U.S. bank or bank transfer. Our bank is Nation's Bank of Virginia, Herndon, Virginia, USA, Account No. 4130118347, Transit No. 056007387. Credit cards are no longer accepted. When transferring money through a bank, please make sure your name, company name and "WorldStar 1999" appear on the transfer information provided to our bank.

ii) US$550 for the first package submitted by the producer of that package, US$425 for the next two entries, and US$225 for each additional entry from the same producer submitted at the same time. In order to qualify for the reduction to $225, all entries must be coordinated and sent in one package with payment.

Example: Four entries at once: $550 + $425 + $425 + $225 = $1,625

Full Member Institutes and Regional Federations Only:
Full Member National Institutes or Regional Federations providing promotional and administrative services as specified below will earn a 15% credit on entries they collect and submit directly to WPO. To receive the 15% credit, institutes and federations must coordinate entries, collect required materials, ensure payment is correct and submit all entries with full payment together to WPO. WPO will then calculate credit due. Credit will not be given by WPO for entries received directly from producers. WPO will apply credit earned to dues obligations for the year 2000 or, if already satisfied, the year 2001. Any remaining credit balance will then be paid directly to the member institute or federation. Please note: Credit may be earned by the national institute or regional federation but not by both organizations for the same entry or entries.
