I.D. MAGAZINE ANNUAL DESIGN REVIEW DEADLINE: JANUARY 31, 2000 ELIGIBILITY Any project or product introduced anywhere in the world between January 1, 1999 and December 31, 1999. AWARDS Panels of distinguished designers will choose three levels of awards for each category: Best of Category, Design Distinction and Honorable Mention. All award winners will be featured in the July/August 2000 edition of I.D. Magazine. FEES Entry fees are $100 for each submission. Student fees are $50 for each submission when accompanied by a photocopy of a valid school ID. LATE ENTRIES A late fee of $25 for each submission is required with entries not postmarked by January 31, 2000. No entries will be accepted after February 14, 2000. CATEGORIES CONSUMER PRODUCTS: Electronics, appliances, residential/portable computers, housewares, fashion, accessories, toys, sports/leisure equipment, jewelry, musical instruments, eyewear, transportation devices for personal use: planes, trains, cars, boats, inline skates, skateboards, bicycles, all-terrain vehicles, alternative vehicles, etc. GRAPHICS: Images for commercial, editorial, promotional, public or personal use, including books, magazines, advertisements, posters, annual reports, interior signage, identity programs, logotypes, stationery, motion graphics, videos, bumpers and film titles. ENVIRONMENTS: Commercial or professional interiors, including those of museums, galleries and showrooms; buildings for health, education, government and transportation; stores, restaurants, entertainment and leisure facilities; and public open spaces, urban landscaping and environmental/exterior signage. FURNITURE: Contract and residential furnishings, lighting fixtures and one-off designs. Textiles, surfaces and other materials, including wall, floor, window and furniture coverings, carpets, tiles, laminates, etc., will also be judged in this category. EQUIPMENT: Business, medical, industrial, military and scientific products; instruments, apparati and computers for professional use, commercial and industrial vehicles. PACKAGING: Graphic and structural packaging programs for retail, wholesale, promotional and industrial use, including containers, bags, boxes, bottles, tubes, labels and book, CD and CD-ROM covers. STUDENT WORK AND CONCEPTS: Projects or products not yet manufactured that explore the possibilities of design or technology. INTERACTIVE MEDIA: are being judged in a separate Design Review.
