PROPHECY Death By Architecture http://www.deathbyarch.com Type: Open, restricted Registration Deadline: February 15, 2000 Submission Deadline: February 15, 2000 Open to: All young architects (licensed for no more than ten years in their respective countries) Entry Fee: None Awards: Publication (see below) Jury: To be announced Death By Architecture announces the initial call for submissions for ``The Prophecy" which is intended to portend the approaching state of contemporary architecture. The submissions should reflect cutting edge architecture throughout the world in terms of design and technology, both built and unbuilt. For this event, any building type is eligible. A ``prophet", or young architect is a licensed professional in his or her respective country and has been practicing as such for no more than ten years. The intention is to begin a monthly call for submissions. Each chosen project will be published on Death By Architecture (DBA) for the period of one month. The project will be exposed to the over 20,000 visitors of DBA each month, as well as having news of the event distributed throughout our partners and affiliates. Submission requirements include: - Proof of date of initial licensure - Brief biography of architect/firm (approx. 300 words) - Detailed explanation of project discussing the client, client/architect relationship, design intent/concept, critical issues and their solutions and physical statistics (area, budget, construction duration, program, etc.) - Photos, renderings, drawings that best explain and represent the work. All materials must be submitted electronically. With this in mind, submit files that are optimized for presentation on the internet. Also: - All text files must be in the .txt format - Graphics formats are either .gif or .jpg - Total of all files are not to exceed 250K in size, higher quality images will be requested of the chosen project - Submit all entries to prophecy@e-architect.com By entering you agree to allow DBA to publish the information you submit along with jury comments. The information will be maintained in an archive to earn you continued exposure over the duration of the year.
