 5+1 architetti associati, Pirelli & C REAL ESTATE, ITALIA 2001, 7'30'' Pirelli & C. Real Estate is promoting some important initiatives aimed at enhancing specific urban and extra-urban areas while proposing a new building typology: the “Leisure Center”. Urban Entertainment Center: Entertainment and leisure time is the topic. Multiscreen, restaurants and music courts, health & fitness center, structures for the staging of shows, commercial activities: this is the functional combination that characterizes the “Leisure & Retail Center”. This video aims at telling how a leisure center is born and lives, who visits it and when during the day; at the same time it displays the ambitions of four current projects, two of which (Varese and Moncalieri) are developed by 5+1. The 5+1 architetti associati studio was born in Genoa in 1995. Its members are collaborating with Professor E.D. Bona in his architectural design course at the University of Genoa. Since 1997 they are part of IFYA (International Forum of Young Architects) and in 2001 they were recommended for the Young Section of the Borromini Prize. In 1996 they won the New Biella Hospital Competition and the Campi Competition in Genoa for a system of signs in the Industrial Park. Their projects were admitted to the second stage of the Siena Justice Hall and Rome Congress Bridge International Competitions and for the new Bologna University settlements. |
