HOV, [glossity]_campo di isolamento riflessivo, ITALIA 2001, 3'30''

The video presents the imaginary development of a reflexive isolation field in glossity, experimentation that HOV has conducted for about three years on the development of extreme spaces related to models of society founded on movements of collective intelligence. Man’s introspective and spiritual time is not denied in glossity. On the contrary, this is ensured and extended to all groups of activities and to every community. Each living organism has the possibility to open its own self and loose itself in it, beyond the acquired intellectual capacities or awareness. There is no reason for such capacities to exist anymore, and so they self-extinguish themselves, being no longer necessary to sustain a society apparently outwardly oriented, whereas in reality it simply ensures its own survival. The structure’s skin, when it comes in contact with the living being, carries it into a sort of estranging trance, triggering a process of psychic review that anyone then lives physiologically. Projects like these clearly express abstract reflections and do not represent real objects. They are experiments of the mind, obtained after putting aside all the objections as to the improbability of a physical, chemical, biological character that may eventually be raised.

HOV started in 1998 in Ancona as an architectural design and research studio focused on the imaginary aspects from the most disparate and experimental disciplines: cosmology, theoretical physics, mathematics, cognitive biology, etc. David Raponi, founder and responsible of the studio, was born in 1965 and graduated in Architecture in Florence in 1991. Among his collaborations: studio Baroni, also in Florence and Noebel studio in Berlin. With a grant in 1994, he participated at the International Seminar on Architecture held at the University of Naples. Among his recent projects: [glossity]_campo di isolamento riflessivo –selected for the Biennial of Miami 2001– and object of the presentation.
