 METROGRAMMA_STUDIO + E. Bartolini, G. Bartolini, A. Pieri, S. Fiamminghi, Attraversamenti: il parco tondo di Firenze, ITALIA 2002, 10'00'' The video presents itself as a sort of index of project themes, a new meaningful horizon thanks to which we can imagine many areas of Florence, today mostly crossed by the Milan-Rome railway, tranformed and returned to Florence. An operation of re-conceptualization that utilizes the tool of the video to communicate the main idea, that formed around the meaningful image of a wide system of open spaces. A new central area of Florence, even though it has a linear and continuous configuration: a round park, effective and incisive sign, capable to “re-invent” the general image of the city, and this without intervening on the current morphological arrangement. The round park is characterized by a system of public spaces capable, in our opinion, to become a privileged point of view and a new place through which the city can be lived. A meta-project idea whose main objective is to oblige our interlocutors to reflect on the great potentials of contemporary public spaces that exist also in Florence. This research can be considered as a first phase of the project. METROGRAMMA_STUDIO (A. Boschetti, M. Fodale, A. Francini; partner: S. Jung), with head office in Milan and Bolzano, explores the “evolved” characters of the project of architecture and urbanism of the contemporary city. The work team, in addition to the ongoing realizations and executive assignments in the architectural field, is engaged in the activity of research and experimentation in urban planning; the work it carries out aims at an in depth examination of issues linked to the process of urbanization and to explore the remarkable phenomenon of “urban density”. Simonetta Fiamminghi, Arianna Pieri, Ernesto and Giuseppe Bartolini, architects, put in the reading of space criteria and concepts for a making constituted by different experiences. Cross-readings of places, elements, sounds, with human, architectonic and vegetable materials. The video is the surface where these elements blend and become crossings, spaces in time. |
