 Emanuele Piccardo, Mutations, ITALIA 2001, 3'35'' The video's subject is the exhibition Mutations held in Bordeaux between the end of 2000 and early 2001; it is a document on the new way of representing architecture through different readings, photographs, videos, sounds. The video includes an interview to one of the curators, Stefano Boeri, alternating between pictures showing the preparation of the show and the interview filmed on board of a the train, where the background of the foggy landscape contrasts with the darkness of the halls of the Entrepôt in Bordeaux, hosting place of the exhibition. The video was broadcast only through the thematic channel Rai Sat Art within the program Start dedicated to shows and exhibits; therefore the participation in this festival should be considered as the "real" first performance on national level. Architect and photographer, Emanuele Piccardo's portfolio includes many initiatives linked to the diffusion of photography, and the realization of photographic campaigns on the territory, with a special attention to the theme of city landscape and view: cinema, architecture and photography. Concerned with architecture and with the New Media, since 2000 he has been collaborating with the digital magazine of architecture ARCH'IT. He realized the video on the architectural exposition Mutations curated by S. Boeri, R. Koolhaas and S. Kwinter, shown on RaiSat Art. His works are preserved at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris. |
