 dbox inc, Two days, one night, USA 2002, 2'21'' (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Research Tower, video copyright dbox, architecture by SOM) The video Two days, one night. made by dbox inc. in order to document the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Research Tower project by SOM, examines how the qualities of light, shadow, and material interact over time on the façades of the tower. The piece was created through a process of dual-rotoscoping which represents the dense urban landscape in the correct perspective as it will be refracted by the new tower. dbox is a multi-disciplinary design studio that produces visual communications and experimental work through an architectural lens. Since its founding in 1996, dbox has worked to integrate the results of its own visual investigations and collaborations with the work it does for its clients. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) is a partnership engaged in architecture, engineering, urban design and planning, interior design, and graphics. SOM has offices in four US cities, London and Hong Kong. SOM projects have been recognized throughout the world for their quality and positive contribution to the built environment. |
