M. Blaschitz, P. Heitzinger, E. Hemmrich, B. Kargl, J. Roschitz (SPLITTERWERK), 0000.00 Digital-World-Prototype, AUSTRIA 2001, 7'04''

The basis for 0000.00 or 4020 (read: four 0 two 0) is a large WWW page, which in form of a "display" offers space to colonists of the world-prototype. General information such as technical system requirements, maps of the structure of the colony and a feedback display make up the infrastructure of the prototype. The digital gallery is specially designed for the Net and digital images created for Internet since fall 1995. Three different categories of works are displayed: the landscapes, laid on a table they create a totally new dimension for the Net; scrolling horizontally or vertically over the respective "landscape" you pause at your leisure in "spots" you find appealing and then, at your own pace, continue on your "journey". Then there are "the pictures", programmed as background and thus their size is determined by the respective user's screen. The third category is called "the widths and the heights", data-miniatures, the size of stamps, that blow up to PC screen size after traveling through the Net. All these images have one thing in common: they are not scans but rather pictures made up of individual "tiles".
