 studioata + Simone Muscolino, Livio Vacchini. Struttura e proporzione, ITALIA 2002, 10'49'' The activity undertaken by studioata, in co-operation with Simone Muscolino, led to the realization of a monographic video on the architectural experience of Livio Vacchini. The video Livio Vacchini. Struttura e proporzione is meant to be a research documentation on this architect that can be consulted at the video-library of the Faculty of Architecture in Turin. The video is a metaphor for a journey to discover the Ticinese architect: Livio Vacchini tells about himself as a man and an architect going back through the chief phases of his experience and illustrating some of his significant works; the eye of the listener and recipient of his experience is reflected on the sequence of images, at one time ready to grasp the teachings of a master, and at another time directed to a detail, to a shadow, some contrast, or to a partial view. His words guide, underline, leading us from the detail to the general, setting the rhythm, through clear rules, of his architectural evolution since the early influence of Le Corbusier, Mies and Kahn, up to the present. studioata is a team of 12 professionals and graduates in architecture, all of them under 30. studioata is a recipient and elaborator of information on the state of contemporary architecture and on the new perspectives and new professional scenarios with which the young architects confront. studioata was founded in 1997; it partecipated in several competitions for students and professionals, and was recipient of prizes and mentions. Simone Muscolino, young architect and film-maker from Turin, mainly deals with the design of videos for architecture. Worthy of mention is the realization of some videos for Cliostraat and of one video on the Plaza de Desierto de Baracaldo (Bilbao) by Eduardo Arroyo. |
