Graziella Zannone Milan, Mercedes Daguerre, Architetture nel territorio Canton Ticino 1970-2000, SVIZZERA 2001

The guide presents 261 buildings by 90 architects who, over the past 30 years, have characterized local architectural production. The aim of this research is to investigate which have been the buildings and who have been the actors of the different design approaches emerging in the variegated contemporary Ticinese architecture and suggest possible heirs, the new actors and recent developments through a selection that, in addition to the implicit critical judgement in each choice, tries to balance the different requirements leading to an pluralistic inventory of representative architectural objects. The form of the work is that of an annotated travel guide including drawings, photographs, biographies, bibliographies, dissertations, videos of interviews of critics and of the most important Ticinese architects and promenades architecturales in seven particularly significant buildings. The proposed itineraries are structured in order to respond to the different needs. The most demanding users will be able to customize their itinerary and print it in the classical guide-book form.
