PLASTI LINE DESIGN AWARD 1999

PLASTI LINE indice un Concorso Internazionale di design riservato a designer, architetti e progettisti.

Scopo del concorso è quello di stimolare nuove idee e soluzioni sull'impiego del Polipropilene (PP) in lastre, senza limitazione creativa, anticipando così le tendenze per il Terzo Millennio: oggetti nuovi per spazi moderni e nuove forme di applicazione.

Le sezioni del concorso sono divise in:
Oggetti per ufficio e scuola
Complementi d'arredamento
Oggetti per spazi collettivi.

La partecipazione al concorso è aperta a: designer, architetti -singoli od associati- e studenti, per opere che non siano ancora presenti sul mercato alla data di chiusura del concorso.

Si richiedono i seguenti elaborati da sottoporre alla giuria:
Una tavola illustrativa su supporto rigido (cm50x70);
Uno o più disegni tecnici piegati in formato cm21x29,7, sufficienti ad Illustrare chiaramente il progetto (le tecniche di elaborazioni dei disegni Sono libere);
Una breve relazione descrittiva sulle caratteristiche teoriche e formali del progetto, massimo due cartelle;
Prototipo dell'oggetto. L'oggetto dovrà essere assemblatoad incastro e senza l'uso di collanti.

Nessun progetto presentato dovrà essere firmato dall'autore o recare alcun Segno distintivo. Il nome e l'indirizzo del concorrente dovranno essere contenuti in una busta chiusa, allegata al progetto e recante un motto ripetuto sul progetto stesso e una dichiarazione firmata che ne attesti la paternità.

Verranno messi in palio, per ogni sezione, i seguenti premi:

primo classificato: Lit. 5.000.000
secondo classificato: Borsa di Studio per partecipare a un corso estivo presso Domus Academy di Milano, nell'estate dell'anno 2000.

L'azienda, nell'ambito della propria attività di impresa, si riserva la facoltà concessa dai partecipanti all'atto dell'iscrizione gratuita di realizzare e commercializzare quanto contenuto nei progetti vincitori dei premi delle diverse sezioni. Riconoscendo in tal caso agli autori i corrispettivi inerenti la cessione dei relativi diritti di utilizzazione.

Gli elaborati dovranno essere indirizzati a mezzo raccomandata con ricevuta di ritorno a:

Gli elaborati, completi di quanto indicato quali allegati, dovranno pervenire entro il 31 dicembre 1999.

La segreteria è esonerata da ogni responsabilità in caso di mancato arrivo degli elaborati. I risultati del concorso saranno resi noti attraverso comunicati stampa e durante una manifestazione prevista nella primavera del 2000.

Tutti gli elaborati inviati rimangono di proprietà materiale della PLASTI LINE e non saranno restituiti. In seguito, la PLASTI LINE allestirà uno Show Room dedicato al Polipropilene e ai suoi campi applicativi.

PLASTI LINE DESIGN AWARD 1999

PLASTI LINE announces an International Design Award reserved to designers, architects and planners.

The aim of the award is to stimulate new ideas and solutions in the use of Polypropylene(PP) in flat sheets, without any creative limitation, anticipating in this way new trends for the third millenium: new objects for modern spaces and new application shapes.

The Award-sections are divided in:
Objects for school and office
Complements for furnishing
Objects for collective spaces

Who can take part in this Award? Designers, architects - on their own or associated with others - and students with works unshown on the market at the award-deadline.

The panel of judges needs:
An illustrative plate on a rigid support (centimeter 50 × 70);
One or more technical drawings folded in a centimeter 21 × 29,7 format, sufficient to clearly explain the plan (elaboration techniques are free will);
A short descriptive report about the theoretical and formal features of the plan, no more than two pages;
An object-prototype. The object has to be assembled with an interlocking system and without the use of glue.

None of the presented projects should be signed by the authors or have any distinctive sign. Name and address of the person who takes part will be contained into a closed envelope, enclosed with the project. The envelope will also contain a "motto" or "saying" repeated on the project itself and a written statement to testify the partenity.

For each section will be offered as prizes:

First placed person: £ 5.000.000
Second placed person: scholarship to take part in a Summer-course at the Domus Academy in Milan, during Summer 2000.

The enterprise, in its activity, intends to carry out and to market what the winning projects of each section contain, having got their authorization at the enrollment moment. In this way, PLASTI LINE acknowledges to the authors the amounts due to the transfer of the relative rights of use.

The works will have to be addressed, by a recorded-delivery letter with advice of receipt, to:

The projects, completed with all the required material, will have to arrive by December 31, 1999.

The register office disclaims all responsibility in case the works don't arrive. The award-results will be made known through press releases, during an event which is supposed to take place in Spring 2000. All the works received remain material property of PLASTI LINE and they will not be returned.

In the future, PLASTILINE will prepare a Show Room devoted to Polypropylene and to its fields of application.
