Four Friends: How Designers think they work
USA 1995, (30')
Most people don't know very much about what designers do, or what the creative process is
like. You could find some insight in books, but in order to understand design and
creativity more deeply, you have to get to know the designers themselves, and hear what
they have to say about their work and their lives. Four Friends is a film about four
designers: Pierre Koenig, one of the most notable of the "case-study-house"
architects of the '50s, but who sees himself as an industrial designer; Peter Garrison,
columnist for Flying magazine, self-taught aerodynamicist, and airplane builder; Michael
Jantzen, conceptual artist, architect, inventor and designer; Katherine Bennet, product
designer and teacher. These four creative people don't fit the conventional mold; they are
design heroes, people who are risk-takers and pursuers of their highly individual personal
visions.
proprie visioni individuali. |
