Spaces of non Memory Places
France 1997, (20')

Spaces of non-memory places is non-narrative, it presents more than it represents a different urban/human condition. The story of the man who could nor read what he had written introduces an emblematic situation. This dramatic and irreversible position is the one of the man in his conflitting relation with community, its rules, its space. The urban space, the privileged place of interrelation, does not allow anymore the establishment of a stable and durable collective reaction. The space of places, now fragmented, complex heterogeneous, is no longer the organisational metaphor of the memory that ancient mnemonic was using. The world data banks, their interconnected networks and the informational flows that they generate are now our collective memories and define the urban organization and its comprehension.

Il video Spaces of non-memory places presenta le trasformazioni del rapporto fra l'uomo e lo spazio urbano conseguenti ai flussi di informazioni generati dalle reti mondiali di computers.
