 Imre Bartal Cotti & Hauser Architects: Jyväskylä Music and Art Center Architron, Switzerland 1999, 4'45'' This video shows the winner project of an international architectural competition organnized by the city of Jyväskyla for a new Music and Art Cente. The new building will be located between two public buildings designed by Alvar Aalto. After having chosen, the client asked for a revision of the project in collaboration with future users and to create a computer animated visualisation of it. The visualisation is supposed to serve on the hand as a mean of presenting the project to the people, on the other hand it is going to be shown to potential investors and sponsor of the project. From a formal point of view the lain ail was to create a strong atmosphere and to avoid the clean artificiality, which very often is a characteristic of this medium. It was important to make the spaces perceptible by using real material textures and different light. In the course of the video now and then still frames are worked in. They are showing the most important spaces and again pass into the moved picture to continue to the next room. This allows to show the space from a precisely chosen pont of view, easy to remember for the audience. |
