Marco Bevilacqua
Struttura espositiva temporanea sul tevere
Università di Roma La Sapienza, Italia 1999

This CD was created for a thesis in Industrial Design in the Department of Architecture at Rome's "La Sapienza." In the creation process, computerized systems of calculation and representation allowed for a structural and spatial control of that which was manufactured. Regardless of the simple graphic formulation of the CD Rom, the architectonic project acquired a legibility and a comprehension linked to perceptive immediacy. The project designs a temporary structure on the banks of the Tiber River which would house expos and recreational activities. The structure is removable and, thus, it can be used primarily during warmer seasons when floods are less likely to occur. The aim of the project was to recuperate the city's visual and physical rapport with the river in conjunction with the enlargement of the walkway along the Tiber and with the innovative system of vertical communication that the river banks facilitate. This simple and quick design structure serves as a communicative element with the surrounding urban area and increases the potential for public exhibitions and shows. Marco Bevilacqua, born in Rome in 1970, graduated with a degree in architecture from Rome's "La Sapienza." During the last year, he has collaborated with the architectural studio "Nemesi Architetti Associati" on digital multimedia projects.
