Daryl Dellora
The Edge of the Possible
Produced by Sue Maslin, Film Art Doco production, Australia 1998, 56'

15th October 1998, there was the anniversary of the official opening of Sydney's opera, celebrated by queen Elisabeth. The Opera house was realised initially following Jørn Utzon's project, considered the best one in the previous selection of models for the most imposing Australian building, but then he was dismissed because of political problems. This movie tries to reconstruct the creation of one of the most refined operas in modern architecture, also by interviews of Jørn Utzon, explaining the concepts and the realisation of the project.
Today Utzon is 80 years old and lives his home country Denmark. After having written an accusing letter to Australian public work minister in 1966, he has never gone back to Australia. He hasn't given an English interview for twenty-five years talking about his live and about Sidney, but here Utzon expresses his desire that the Opera house is registered in the list of international artistic operas and therefor protected.

Daryl Dellora is the director of Film Art Doco, an independent film and video production company. One of his major operas, "The edge of the Possible" with Sue Maslin as Production manager, won the International Television Competition Gold Plaque in Chicago 1998. Dellora and Maslin now are realising a documentary about Australian General Governor with exclusive access to some documents.
