 Atelier Lucien Kroll Lucien Kroll Belgium, 39'30'' The work of the Atelier Kroll is situated in the contemporary school of thought that we call "research for solutions." Atelier Kroll is an association that concerns itself with how the contemporary western world has a fundamental need to address the problems raised by its development. Atelier's fundamental objective is to invert the obsolete tendency to fragment the complexity. The history of architecture in this century has confirmed decisively this logic, assuming completely the laws of the market and the economy as systematic accumulation and rationalization. The point of departure of the inversion of this tendency of development could be Felix Guattari's idea of ecology as an "inter-racial, worldwide social equality" that considers each element only in relation to its context. From this point, one can search for the "factors of a new form of architecture" that respond to the urgency of the "anxiety of those that can no longer believe in the brutal modernism or in the modernism of certain architects." Lucien Kroll has published various texts and articles concerning "problem solving" in architecture and urbanism. |
