Giuseppe Monticelli
Ristrutturazione antica ferramenta Rossi
Italia, 1994, 11'

The antique grocer Rossi is placed in Lucca very close to marvellous Piazza San Michele. The renewal project intended to enhance the historical testimony of the building renovating the traditional shape of the shop without renouncing modern technologies. Computer graphic techniques helped the architecture project to give interesting verifies. An important example has been given by a non-used stair that, after that the second floor has become operative, created a link between a shop and the over-standing offices. The project research insists in this way, and it has been essential to use CAD which allowed to carefully fix the definitive solution. The final result was possible because of the co-operation of a lot of people and of the skilled experience of artisans. The strategic choices given by the client gave also trust and support in difficult moments.

Giuseppe Monticelli, born in Lucca, is now councillor of the Architects list. After ending the University, he dedicated his work to buildings renewal and he won the first prize for the "Concorso Idee per la riqualificazione urbana del centro storico di Forte dei Marmi". For over ten years he made projects with three-dimensional CAD. Some of his works has been published on: "L'Architetto, Casabella, Costruire, Costruire in Laterizio, Ville e Giardini, Professione Architetto".
